Sanmerly Peralta, MBA

Sanmerly Peralta is the founder of Meraki Tax Studio, a boutique tax and accounting firm built on the belief that financial guidance should be delivered with clarity, integrity, and genuine care.

Her journey in accounting began early while attending Rafael Cordero Molina Business School in Puerto Rico, one of the island’s most recognized business-focused high schools at the time. She graduated with highest honors and earned a degree as an Accounting Clerk, laying the foundation for what would become a lifelong passion for accounting, taxation, and financial strategy.

Sanmerly later attended the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, where she earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Before graduating, she completed an internship with BDO Puerto Rico, gaining valuable experience in professional accounting and financial services.

Her career has since expanded across both private and public accounting. She worked in private industry as a company accountant before moving to Manhattan, New York, where she spent two years working for an accounting firm and strengthening her experience in tax preparation, compliance, and client advisory services. After relocating to Louisiana, she continued building her career in public accounting with a CPA firm while simultaneously pursuing her MBA online through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating in 2023.

Throughout her career, Sanmerly has gained experience in government audits, private company audits, accounting, and both corporate and individual tax preparation, including working with high-income taxpayers and complex tax situations. Over the years, she developed a strong passion for taxation and strategic tax planning after seeing firsthand how proper planning and financial organization can positively impact a person’s goals, business growth, and long-term financial stability.

She is especially passionate about helping clients understand their tax situation, reduce unnecessary tax liability legally and strategically, and make informed financial decisions with confidence. Through years of experience, continuous education, and dedication to her profession, Sanmerly has developed a strong understanding of tax strategies designed to help individuals and business owners protect and optimize their financial position while remaining fully compliant with tax regulations.

She is currently pursuing the prestigious Enrolled Agent (EA) credential, the highest credential awarded by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) further strengthening her commitment to professional excellence and advanced tax expertise.

Her approach combines technical knowledge with genuine care for the people and businesses she serves.

Today, through Meraki Tax Studio, Sanmerly provides tax preparation, accounting, business formation, payroll support, and strategic tax guidance for individuals, entrepreneurs, independent contractors, and small businesses. She is especially passionate about serving the Latino community by offering bilingual support in both English and Spanish and helping clients feel informed, organized, and financially confident.
